A CHANGE IN A[WEAR] DONATIONS
Hey everyone!
Unfortunately Prussia will no longer be donating NEW designs to A[WEAR] this Wednesday and will instead be donating PAST collection pieces for the runway and pop up store.
Although unexpected the show must go on and we will look forward to producing these designs in the coming weeks ready for you to purchase.

DESIGNER PROFILE ON AWEAR BLOG

How important is it for Prussia to give back to the community through such a great cause like Prahran Mission?
Very! It’s a great opportunity to continue our fight against capitalism and Australia’s need for equality by working on a charity event where all proceeds made are donated to people personally affected by both of these issues.
What does Prahran Mission mean to you?
Prahan Mission means giving help to those who are truly in need.
How has the 90’s fashion affected your outlook on design and what was your favourite trend in this era?
I took inspiration from the idea of printed denim that was a bit of a fad in the 90’s, like all trends of the 90’s were.
I can’t choose just one trend as my favourite, they were all so hilarious yet fun, I wouldn’t know where to begin!
We saw your sketches on your blog for the outfits you are donating to A[WEAR] for the event and are incredibly excited! Was there anybody or anything in particular you were inspired by when designing the garments?
I saw a picture by one of the big designers of the time with floral printed denim and thought their take on customisation was very suitable for A[WEAR]’s theme. I also chose to make overalls because as kid of the 90’s, you had at least one pair.
What piece of advice have you gained from your experience that you think is valuable to aspiring designers?
My piece of advice is “Don’t take anyone else’s advice”. There is no set way of doing something and everyone thinks and works differently. I think it’s best to just get in there and find your own way; and always trust your instincts.
